GTA 5 cheats for PS5: every code that works

Grand Theft Auto V still runs 31 working cheat codes in Story Mode, and on PS5 you trigger each one either as a controller button sequence or as a 1-999 number you dial on the in-game phone. Before you touch any of them, know the trade: switching on a single cheat freezes trophy and achievement progress for the rest of that play session.

So keep a clean save if you're chasing the platinum, then load a separate file to mess around.

The one we reach for first is invincibility. The vehicle spawns are the most fun to chain together, and none of it works in GTA Online.

We've listed the PS5 button input first because it's the fastest way in, with the phone number next to it for codes you plan to reuse. Enter either one during normal free-roam play.

One number is worth a warning: the Spawn Comet phone code (1-999-266-38) is shorter than the rest and may be missing a digit, so use the button input if the call doesn't connect.

How to enter cheats on PS5

There are two ways in, and both work from the same free-roam state.

On the controller

Play in free roam, not paused and not in a menu or cutscene, then press the buttons in the exact order listed. There's no time limit between presses, and a small icon and sound confirm when a code lands.

Entering the same sequence again switches most effects back off. If a code does nothing, you're almost certainly in a menu, a cutscene, or a mission that blocks input.

On the in-game phone

Open your phone, switch to the dial pad, type the 1-999 number exactly as written, and press call. Once a number connects, GTA V saves it to the phone's Cheats contact list, so you can re-fire a favorite without redialing.

The phone method behaves the same on console and PC, which makes it the cleanest way to repeat a code you use a lot.

Story Mode only

Every code here works in single-player Story Mode and nowhere else. GTA Online blocks cheat codes completely, so none of these button sequences or numbers will do anything in the multiplayer game. What using a cheat turns off

Turning on any cheat stops trophy and achievement tracking for the rest of that play session. Rockstar's support site is clear on the fix: reload a save with no cheat active and eligibility comes back.

You can still save while a cheat is running, according to that same Rockstar Support page, so an active code won't lock or damage your file. Tracking just stays paused until you reload clean.

Re-entering the same code usually toggles the effect off, though not every cheat behaves that way. Starting a story mission with some movement or combat cheats still on will also switch them off for you.

One extra detail is worth flagging as unconfirmed: NME reports that mission completion ratings cap at Bronze while a cheat is active. No second source corroborated it, so treat it as a single-source note rather than a settled rule.

Where to start

If you just want to cause trouble fast, punch in invincibility, give weapons, and explosive ammo, then spawn the Buzzard and go crazy. For an older Rockstar sandbox, the GTA San Andreas cheats for PS5 run the same way.
