GTA 5's Xbox cheats are short button combinations you enter with the controller during normal Story Mode play, and they behave the same on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
There are 31 working codes below, grouped into player powers, weapons, vehicle spawns, and world tweaks like moon gravity and slow motion. The ones we reach for first are invincibility, a full weapon set, and a fast car, but the whole list is here. The one thing to settle before you touch any of them: switching a cheat on stops achievement and trophy progress for the rest of that play session. You can still save and your file is safe, but the codes and 100% completion do not mix. None of it works in GTA Online, which blocks cheats outright. Player cheats
These change what your character can do, from taking no damage to clearing a rooftop in one jump. Invincibility lasts about 5 minutes per activation, so re-enter it before it lapses.

Vehicle spawn cheats
Each code drops one specific ride next to you, from a BMX to an armed Buzzard helicopter. There is no pick-any-car code, so you get exactly the vehicle listed.

The Comet's dial-in (1-999-266-38) reads shorter than the rest. Both sources list it that way, so it is reproduced as reported; the button combo is the reliable route if the number gives you trouble.
World and physics cheats
These bend the physics and pace of the whole session. Moon Gravity plus Super Jump is the closest GTA 5 gets to flying without a plane.

How to enter cheats on Xbox (Series X|S and One)
Load Story Mode and start playing. Codes only register during normal free roam, so you cannot be paused, in a menu, or in a cutscene when you enter them.
Press the buttons in the exact order listed, using the face buttons, the bumpers (LB, RB), and the triggers (LT, RT). There is no time limit between presses, so you do not need old PS2-era speed. A small icon and a sound confirm when a code takes.
Most effects toggle. Enter the same code again to switch it back off. The mechanic is identical on Series X|S and Xbox One, and the codes themselves are the same set used on PlayStation with the matching button names. The GTA 5 cheats for PS4 use those PlayStation labels in full.
The phone method
Every code also has a 1-999 phone number, shown in the tables above. Open your in-game cell phone, switch to the dial pad, type the number exactly, and press call. Once it connects, the cheat saves to a Cheats contact in your phone for one-tap reuse later. This phone method works the same way on console and PC. That includes the GTA 5 cheats for PS5, which share these phone numbers.
What cheats switch off: achievements, trophies, and saving
Turning on any cheat disables achievement and trophy progress for the rest of that play session, according to Rockstar's support site. That applies to every code on this page, not only the powerful ones.
Saving still works. Rockstar Support's own guidance says you can save your game with a cheat active. Only achievement and trophy tracking pauses, and it does not resume until you reload without any cheat running.
Two practical notes round this out. Re-entering the same code usually switches its effect off, though not every code toggles cleanly, and starting a story mission with certain movement or combat cheats still active will switch them off for you.
One further detail is worth flagging as unconfirmed. NME reports that mission ratings are capped at Bronze while a cheat is active. Only that single source lists it, so treat it as a possibility rather than a settled rule until a second source confirms it.
