GTA 5 cheats for PS4: every code that works

The full GTA 5 cheat roster still runs on PS4, from god mode and a free weapons drop to spawnable helicopters, moon gravity, and slow-motion aim. Every code below is a PS4 controller input, and each one also has a 1-999 phone number you can dial in-game instead.

One thing to settle before you touch any of them: switching on a cheat turns off trophy and achievement progress for that play session, and none of these codes do anything in GTA Online. Story Mode only.

The ones we keep coming back to are Max Health and Armor right before a firefight, Skyfall when we just want to mess around, and Spawn Buzzard for a quick escape. Skip the wanted-level codes if you care about your session's trophy run, since any cheat shuts that tracking off. Player and health cheats

These cover survivability, movement, and the character abilities. Enter Max Health and Armor to also repair the car you're sitting in.

Two sources agree the Drunk Mode number is 1-999-547-867; one older guide lists 1-999-547-861, which looks like a transcription slip, so we've used the number the majority report.

Weapon and combat cheats

Give Weapons hands you the full arsenal with ammo. The three explosive and fire codes stack the way you'd expect, so flaming bullets and explosive ammo together get chaotic fast.

Guides disagree slightly on the Explosive Ammo phone number by a single digit. We've used the 10-digit grouping (1-999-444-4439); the button code is the same everywhere, so use that if the dial doesn't take.

Vehicle spawn cheats

Each spawn code drops the vehicle right next to you. Spawn Buzzard is the standout, since it's an armed attack helicopter and not just a joyride.

The Spawn Comet phone number (1-999-266-38) reads shorter than the others, and it looks possibly incomplete. Both guides we checked list it that way, so use the button code if the call fails.

World and physics cheats

These change how the environment behaves rather than your character. Slow Motion and Slow Motion Aim are the two most useful for lining up a jump or a shot.

How to enter cheats on PS4

You have two ways in, and both work in the same place: normal free-roam play, on foot or in a vehicle.

The button method is the fast one. During unpaused gameplay (not in a menu, on the pause screen, or in a cutscene), press the buttons in the listed order.

There's no time limit between presses, so you don't need the quick-fingers timing the old PS2 codes wanted. A small icon and a sound confirm when a code takes.

Re-entering the same code toggles most effects back off. Some movement and combat cheats also switch themselves off when you start a story mission.

The phone method is slower but sticks around. Open your in-game cell phone, switch to the dial pad, type the 1-999 number exactly as listed, and press call.

One hard limit applies to both methods: cheats only function in Story Mode. GTA Online blocks every cheat code, so none of these will do anything in a multiplayer session. Which platforms can share that multiplayer at all is a separate question our GTA 5 crossplay guide settles.

What turning on a cheat disables

Once you switch on any cheat, GTA 5 stops tracking trophies and achievements for the rest of that play session. Rockstar's support site sets out the rule.

You can still save your game with a cheat active, so a cheat session won't lock you out of your save. Trophy and achievement tracking picks back up only after you reload without any cheat running. The same trophy rule applies to the GTA San Andreas cheats for PS4 in the Definitive Edition.

Entering the same code again usually toggles the effect off, though not always. Starting a story mission with some movement or combat cheats still active will switch them off for you.

One more detail is worth flagging as single-source: NME reports that mission completion ratings cap at Bronze while a cheat is active.
