Most of the PS2-era button codes still work in San Andreas: The Definitive Edition, so the weapon drops, wanted-level tricks, and vehicle spawns you remember all fire on a PS4 controller. But don't forget: entering a single code switches off trophy progress on that save file, so keep a spare save if you still want the Platinum.
A few classic cheats didn't survive the move to Unreal Engine, and we've listed those in their own section so you're not left mashing a code that does nothing. If you want the modern game instead, the GTA 5 cheat codes for PS4 run on the same controller. Everything in the tables below uses the PS4 button sequence, which is identical to the PS5 one. The GTA San Andreas cheats for PS5 use that exact sequence.
Weapon and combat cheats
The three weapon sets stack tiers of gear onto CJ instantly. Infinite ammo pairs well with any of them.

These cover health, money, body stats, and the wanted-level controls. The all-in-one boost is the one code we reach for first, since it fixes health, armor, cash, and your ride in a single sequence.

Third-party guides flag the riot cheat as permanent: once you trigger it on a save, it can't be toggled back off. Treat it as a one-way switch and only use it on a save you don't mind changing for good.
Vehicle and spawn cheats
Spawns drop the vehicle right on top of you, so leave room. The flight and traffic cheats change how everything on the road behaves.

One "missing cheats" roundup listed the jetpack as cut, but Game Informer, Inverse, and GTABase all still publish a working code, so it stays on the working list here. If it fails to register, re-enter it slower from the first button.
How to enter cheats on PS4
Enter each code as a live button sequence during normal gameplay, not from the pause menu. When a code lands, a short notification appears on screen to confirm it.
Two things make this kinder than the old PS2 setup. You can start entering codes the moment the game loads, and there's no time limit between presses, so the classic reputation for needing lightning-fast inputs no longer applies. If a sequence doesn't register, start over from the first button and take it slower.
The PS4 and PS5 codes match exactly. On Nintendo Switch the same sequences map to the Joy-Con or Pro Controller buttons, while PC and mobile swap the button combos for typed word codes (for example, INEEDSOMEHELP for the health, armor, and cash boost, or KANGAROO for Super Jump). The GTA San Andreas cheats for Switch spell out those same sequences with Nintendo's buttons.
What cheats switch off
Every code you enter disables trophy and achievement progress on that save file. Push Square, Inverse, and GTABase all report the same behavior, and while there's no dedicated Rockstar support article for the remaster to confirm it first-party, the outlets agree. So the practical move is simple: keep one save for messing with cheats and a clean save for any trophy or Platinum run. The crowd cheats carry an extra risk. Riots, armed pedestrians, and no-pedestrian mode can break some mission scripts, so avoid them on a save you plan to finish the story on. There's no in-game way to fully reverse the riot cheat once it's active.
Cheats that were removed from the Definitive Edition
Rockstar rebuilt the trilogy on Unreal Engine, replacing the original RenderWare engine, and some effects couldn't make the jump. Our full San Andreas Definitive Edition cheats page lists every code that survived across platforms. These classic codes are confirmed gone, so don't waste time hunting for a working sequence:
- Infinite Health (invincibility). Rockstar couldn't port this as a togglable cheat on the new engine.
- Never Get Hungry (no hunger).
- Cars Float on Collision.
- Destroy All Cars.
- Invisible Cars.
- Adrenaline Mode.
- The pedestrian costume themes (Kinky, Rural, and Yakuza/Triad crowds), reported under slightly different names across outlets.
A separate set of cheats, including Improved Handling, Ninja Pedestrians, and Always Midnight, is still disputed: outlets disagree on whether each one survived, so we've left them off both lists until the reports line up.
