GTA 4 cheats: every phone number that works

GTA IV hides its cheats in plain sight. There's no cheat menu and no button combo to memorize.

Niko carries a cell phone, and every cheat is a phone number you dial in the game. Punch in 482-555-0100 and you get full health, armor, and a stack of weapons. Punch in 227-555-0175 and a Comet sports car drops in next to you.

One thing to know before you start: a few cheats switch off specific achievements and trophies, but only for that play session. Reload a save with no cheat active and your eligibility comes straight back.

The same numbers work on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, plus Xbox One through Backward Compatibility. GTA IV never got a native PS4 or PS5 release, so there's no separate code set to learn. If you're on PS5, our GTA 5 cheats for PS5 are the closest modern Rockstar set.

Every GTA 4 cheat code

Each cheat is a phone number, so the code and the effect are all you really need. The dialing steps are in the next section, and they're the same for every entry.

We've grouped the codes by what they do, starting with the ones we reach for most.

Both numbers are confirmed by two sources, but those sources disagree on which one is the "basic" set and which is "advanced." We've labeled them by the weapons they hand you instead of by tier, so you can pick the loadout you actually want.

How to enter cheats in GTA 4

Every code goes in the same way: open Niko's phone, dial the number, and hit call. Only the button that opens the phone changes by platform.

PC: press the Up arrow key to bring up the phone, switch to the dial pad, type the number, and press call.

PlayStation 3: press Up on the d-pad to bring up the phone, open the dial pad, enter the number, and press call.

Xbox 360 and Xbox One (Backward Compatibility): press Up on the d-pad to bring up the phone, open the dial pad, enter the number, and press call.

Once a code works, it saves to the phone's Cheats contact list. After that you can redial it in one tap instead of typing the whole number again.

What cheats disable: achievements, trophies, and saving

Cheats in GTA IV come with a catch, but a smaller one than you might expect. Only a subset of them block anything, and the block lifts on its own.

The health, armor, weapon, and remove-wanted-level cheats switch off a few specific achievements and trophies for the current session. Community references point to unlocks like "Cleaned the Mean Streets," "One Man Army," "Walk Free," and "Finish Him."

That lock is session-based, not permanent. Load a save with no cheat active and your eligibility for those unlocks returns. It works differently in GTA III's Definitive Edition, where the cheat lock sits at the save-file level instead.

You can still save while a cheat is running. The game shows an on-screen warning that cheats may affect your save, but it doesn't stop you from saving.

One caveat on sourcing: Rockstar has no official cheat article for GTA IV, so this achievement and saving behavior comes from community references (TrueAchievements, GameFAQs, GTAForums, and Steam Community discussions) rather than a first-party statement. It's consistent across those sources, so we'd treat it as community-confirmed rather than official. Cheats that aren't real in GTA 4, and the PS4/PS5 question

A few codes get passed around that don't actually do anything in GTA IV, so here's what to skip.

There's no working "Cluckin' Bell van" spawn cheat, despite what some lists claim. There's also no low-gravity or "floater" cheat here: that one is real, but it belongs to GTA V, not GTA IV.

The episodic add-ons, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, do carry their own extra phone numbers. We've left those out because only single sources back them so far, and the list above sticks to codes that two sources agree on.

On platforms, GTA IV never shipped natively on PS4 or PS5. It runs on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, plus Xbox One through Backward Compatibility, and the phone cheats are identical across all of them. Rockstar's support site documents the Xbox One backward-compatibility availability.
