How to set up a cross-platform game

Here's the setup we'd use to get a mixed-platform team into one session:

• On PC, update to version 1.3.0 or later, open Settings from the main menu, go to the Game tab, and confirm crossplay is on.
• Have one player host a new game, private or public, for up to four players.
• That host shares the room code shown in the top-right corner of the waiting room.
• Everyone else selects Join a Game and enters that room code to drop in, whatever platform they're on.

How to turn crossplay off

Some players would rather match only with others on their own system, usually for a steadier connection. On PC you can do that.

Open Settings, then the Game tab, and switch crossplay off. You'll then fill public random lobbies with players on your own platform only.

The console-side toggle isn't independently confirmed, so on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S check the in-game settings for the same option.

Does voice chat work across platforms?

Voice chat isn't officially documented for Escape the Backrooms right now. Fancy Games hasn't confirmed a built-in cross-platform voice system either way.
