Robux is the virtual currency used across Roblox. You spend it on avatar clothing and accessories, game passes, and optional extras inside individual experiences, like power-ups or cosmetics.
One Robux balance works in every Roblox game, so it's the only currency you need on the platform.
How Robux works
You buy Robux with real money on the Roblox site or app, or by redeeming a Roblox gift card. A paid Premium membership also adds a set amount of Robux to your account each month.
Spending splits across two places. The avatar shop sells clothing and accessories, while individual experiences charge Robux for game passes and in-experience purchases like boosts or skins.
Creators set the prices inside their own experiences, while Roblox sets what you'll pay to buy Robux itself. Eligible creators can later convert Robux they earn back into real money through Roblox's Developer Exchange.
Roblox games that use Robux
Every experience in our Roblox guides is free to enter, then leans on Robux for anything optional. DOORS, our top pick in the best Roblox horror games, is free to join with optional in-experience purchases on top.
Anime Fighting Simulator leads our best anime games on Roblox on the same terms, free to enter with optional purchases over the grind. Robux only enters when you're buying something, never to start playing.
Obby games run the same way. Many an obby is free to play, with Robux paying only for a skip-stage button or a cosmetic when you want one.
