Is Palworld crossplay? Platforms and servers, explained

Yes, Palworld supports full crossplay. As of the version 1.0 launch on July 10, 2026, players on PC (Steam), PC (Microsoft Store and Game Pass), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Mac all share one multiplayer pool and can play in the same game together.

Crossplay rolled out in stages. PC, Xbox, and Mac were linked first, back in the v0.5.0 update on March 19, 2025, and PS5 joined as the last platform when the 1.0 full release shipped.

One catch trips people up: crossplay is not the same as cross-save. You can play with friends on any platform, but your save file does not travel with you, and we'll cover exactly what that means below.

Which platforms can play together

The short version is that everyone sits in the same pool. A player on Steam can join a friend on PS5, an Xbox Series X|S player can host for someone on Mac, and Game Pass players land in the same lobby as everyone else.

Palworld runs its crossplay over Epic Online Services, which is what lets accounts from different stores and consoles find each other. Casual co-op holds up to 4 players in one world, and a dedicated or community server pushes that ceiling to 32. Cross-save and cross-progression: the part people mix up

This is where the confusion lives. Palworld has crossplay, but it does not have cross-progression.

Your save data, worlds, characters, and items do not automatically move between Steam, Xbox, and PS5, even though those platforms can play together. Start a solo world on PS5 and it stays on PS5. There is one exception, and it sits inside the Xbox ecosystem. Xbox Game Pass and Xbox retail on the same Microsoft account share saves, so moving between those two is seamless.

If you want one world reachable from more than one platform, the route we'd trust is a dedicated server. Host the world on a server and any platform can connect to it, which sidesteps the missing cross-save entirely.

Unofficial community save-converter tools exist too, for example ones that reshape an Xbox Game Pass save into Steam format. How to play Palworld together across platforms

Crossplay is on by default, so there is no separate toggle to flip. You have two ways to get a group into the same game.

• Invite directly. Use the in-game friends and invite system to pull friends in, whatever platform they are on.

How to limit who can join

There is no player-facing switch to turn crossplay off. Control happens at the server level instead: a server owner can make a server private or password-protected, or restrict it by platform at the hosting level, so you decide who gets in rather than shutting the feature down.

Voice chat across platforms

Palworld has no confirmed built-in voice chat. Cross-platform groups lean on platform party chat or a third-party app such as Discord to talk while they play.
