Yes. Fortnite is the game that made crossplay the default expectation: PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and mobile all drop into the same match, tied together by one Epic account.
The whole thing runs off one linked Epic Games account. Sign in with it on any platform and crossplay is on automatically, with no setting to switch on first.
One Fortnite-specific wrinkle is worth knowing early: matchmaking follows Epic's Platform Hierarchy. A mixed party queues into the lobby pool of its strongest platform, so add a PC player and the whole squad gets matched into the PC pool.
Which platforms play together
Fortnite runs one crossplay ecosystem across everything, and there's no separate console-only or mobile-only version to plan around. Every platform below shares matchmaking by default.

So the full list is PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile on both iOS and Android. All of them queue together the moment everyone's signed into their Epic account.
How matchmaking sorts a mixed party
This is the part that surprises people, so here's the plain version. Fortnite doesn't average out a mixed squad; it matches you by whoever's on the most powerful hardware.
Epic calls it the Platform Hierarchy. The party queues into the pool of its strongest platform, so a squad with a PC player gets matched into the PC pool, whatever everyone else is on.
That's useful to know if you're the mobile or Switch player in the group. You'll be facing whatever tier your strongest teammate pulls the party into, not your own platform's pool. For the platform details, see our guide to Apex Legends crossplay.
Cross-progression: does your account follow you
Crossplay and cross-progression get mixed up constantly, so here's the split. Crossplay is who you can play with; cross-progression is whether your stuff follows you between platforms.
Fortnite has both, and they run off the same linked Epic account. Once a platform is connected, your purchased content and your save and progress data are available from any linked platform you sign into.
Two limits are worth naming. V-Bucks carry across platforms, but some regions apply platform-specific restrictions to them, so a balance isn't always spendable everywhere.
The second one catches people mid-move. Progress made on two separate Epic accounts can't be merged into one, so pick a single Epic account and link everything to that.
How to link accounts and squad up
The setup is all about the account link, not an in-game switch. Each platform account you own gets connected to one Epic Games account, and only one account per platform type can be linked.
Go to epicgames.com, open Account, then Connected Accounts, and link your PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam or PC, and mobile logins to the same Epic account. That single account is what carries your crossplay and your progress.
Friends work through the Epic friends list, which behaves the same regardless of platform. Add a friend there, invite them into your party, and the game handles the mixed lobby for you. PUBG is stricter about who can group, as our guide on whether PUBG is cross-platform explains.
How to turn crossplay off
There's a real off switch, but only on two platforms. On PlayStation and Xbox, open in-game Settings, go to the Account And Privacy tab, then Gameplay Privacy, and set Allow Cross Platform Play to No to restrict matches to your own platform.
On Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile, there's no option to disable it. Fortnite plays on phones too, and our roundup of the top multiplayer mobile games has more to try on mobile. Voice chat across platforms
Voice chat works across every platform by default for anyone grouped together, mobile players included. There's nothing extra to install for a mixed squad to talk. Fall Guys is another Epic-account party game with full crossplay, as our Fall Guys crossplay guide shows.

You control who reaches you through the chat-with permissions. Set them to Everybody, to Friends, Team Members and Connections, to Friends Only, or to Off.
